The Malaysia-India Business Council (MIBC) held a productive courtesy meeting and introductory briefing on 2nd november 2026 with the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), YB Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani. Led by MIBC President and Malaysia-India CEO Forum (MICEOF) Co-Chair, Tan Sri Ir. Kuna Sittampalam, the delegation introduced the Council and its role as the Secretariat to the MICEOF. The session served as a debrief following the successful convening of the 10th MICEOF and the bilateral leaders' meeting held in February 2026 in conjunction with the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Discussions during the courtesy call centered on reviewing follow-up actions to implement the recommendations from the 10th MICEOF Joint Statement. A key highlight of the meeting was the proposed establishment of the MICEOF Sectoral Sub-Committees, designed to drive sustained public-private engagement and advance key bilateral initiatives across priority sectors. MIBC looks forward to working closely with MITI to further deepen Malaysia-India trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
